Canon iW Management Console
Canon iW Management Console (iWMC), also referred to as iW Enterprise Management Console (iWEMC), is Canon’s printer-fleet management software. SSLNexus manages the HTTPS certificate of its Windows management-console service.
Supported workflow
The established adapter uses ManagementConsoleService.exe.config, its CertThumbPrint setting and the IWMC Management Console Manager Windows service. It imports a PFX into the local machine Personal certificate store and restarts that service. It does not provision certificates onto individual printers. Confirm the same configuration and service layout before using another iWEMC release.
Configure the target
- Prepare the Windows console server using the Windows target guidance, with authorised WinRM access from your licensed SSLNexus installation.
- In Deployment targets, select Canon iW Management Console (iWMC). Existing targets retain the adapter ID
iwmc. - Supply the Windows management credentials and application/PFX password using the target’s encrypted secret fields.
- Select the CA connector and certificate hostname/SANs appropriate for the console’s HTTPS endpoint. Test connectivity before saving.
- Schedule the initial deployment in a maintenance window because activation restarts the console manager service.
Deployment and renewal
SSLNexus searches the Canon installation directories on C: and D: for the service configuration, then records the selected path for reuse. It stages the PFX under D:\Certs, backs up existing staging and configuration files, imports the certificate, updates the thumbprint and restarts the service. Keep the detected installation path in place. After deployment, verify the certificate actually served by the console hostname; a successful CA issuance alone does not prove activation.
Deployment boundary
This workflow runs in Client Server’s deployment engine, subject to its licence and target permissions. Customer Relay requests certificates and does not run WinRM or Ansible. See integration qualification for the scope of operationally qualified workflows.
